Give a little to make a BIG impact

Our Mission is to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty in the Grape Street neighborhood of Watts, LA, California

In the community of Watts, 44% of people live below the poverty line and the median income
is $25,161. Watts is one of the densest as well as youngest neighborhoods in the city of Los Angeles. Most of the children live in single-parent homes and lack access to resources such
as quality education, job/skills training, career readiness, and living-wage employment.
Basic needs such as food often go unmet. For many children, the only consistent full meals
are school breakfast and lunch, and of course, that is not available on weekends.
Also, Watts has a vulnerable population of senior citizens who live on very limited incomes.

WHAT WE DO

Watts Powerhouse Food helps fight poverty by providing medical, dental, nutritional and educational assistance to individuals and schools.
