Watts Powerhouse Food, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, in partnership with Watts Powerhouse Church, is located directly next to Imperial Courts Housing Projects in the South Los Angeles City of Watts, CA.
The pandemic has been especially challenging for many of the underserved local kids with most falling behind in their core school subjects. These children need our help keeping them engaged with their education over the summer break.
We want to offer a safe place for these kids to read books throughout the summer and work towards winning prizes for participating. Prizes as simple as a free McDonald’s lunch will bring these kids great joy and will motivate them to attend.
